We welcome 13 year old Tori Rowe from the USA to our team who joined us at the beginning of January 2023.

In November 2022 we met the family to look for a horse for Tori to compete when she will arrive in Switzerland. The whole family Rowe flew to Ireland. It was good fun and ended successfully in buying JJ (Heritage LVS Van Gogh) at Greg Broderick’s Ballypatrick Stables.

JJ and Tori had a short „warm up“ at home before we left to our first competition in San Giovanni.

Chloé Uffenheimer and Aarhof’s Casanova took the challenge of an early start into the jumping season after a long winter break.

Laura loaded her three horses, Mortimer, Muffin and Tamina plus a promising 6 year old gelding called Olun she received from Dietmar Guglers Sporthorses to compete.

We left grey cold Switzerland to arrive in sunny warm Italy.

After the long winter break the horses were keen to compete which reflected their results.

For Tori who had competed in Hunter Classes in the US the European system was new and the horse was new. Nevertheless she and JJ were fully focused on finding their way through the demanding courses. Tori was rewarded with a 7th place at the final on Sunday and has received her first ribbon. Well done Tori!

Aarhof’s Casanova and Chloé repeated their performance from Oliva. They enjoyed their rounds and came out of the ring smiling rewarded with a 4th place in the Sunday final.

Tamina and Mortimer won a „coppa“ being placed 3rd. Olun 4th and 8th and Muffin 4th and 7th.

Our team was supported by Heini Remes and her boyfriend Veikko Eemeli from Finland. Eemeli managed the stablework and Heini groomed the horses to perfection. They quickly adjusted to the daily routine in a calm and cheerful way. We look forward to having them on board for the next events.

Aside of the jumping we met Robert Splane our former Chef d’équipe of the Irish Team looking back on good old times and forward to the upcoming jumping season.

The second weekend was as successful as the first one.

This time Chloé won a „Coppa“ and was three times placed with Aarhof’s Casanova, her „Saint“ as she calls him.

Tori and JJ turned into a powerful team collecting ribbon after ribbon.

Tamina showed her potential jumping the bigger classes, Mortimer never touched a fence and Muffin finished the week with a 4th place in the 1.35 class.

Good memories stay alive from the show in San Giovanni. It was fun and successful.
