We all looked forward to February, to our first show in 2025. Only ten days before the start we finally were accepted.
We loaded eight horses with Michel Frey and Laura as our drivers and Alicia Stein and Eemeli Veikko as our grooms. The convoy arrived safe in rainy St. Tropez finding the stable area and show ground flooded.
The French course designer built from day one long, technical courses up to the height allowed with a short time frame. The first week the riders had to adjust to these requirements.
The second week the horses were more relaxed and the riders found back the routine before winter break.
How exciting to see Tori Rowe riding „Guiness des Blés“ for the first time. He showed his quality and fulfilled all expectations. Cascadella and Tamina found the rhythm ending with a great performance.
Chloé allowed her horses Vigo Cruz and Covetous an easy start into the new season giving them time to adjust to the challenges of the courses.
Laua’s horses over motivated the first days had to relax to perform as usual.
Aside of riding we were spoilt by Sabine and Ralf Kauffmann who hosted us at their house in Port Grimaud. They took David and Michel on a boat trip along the coast of St. Tropez. We followed their suggestions of restaurants and were rewarded with wonderful „French cuisine“ and lots of fun at dinners.
The show was more challenging then what we expected. But we would have missed not to go.
