Laura and Tori Rowes horses arrived on Sunday, October 5th at 17.30 at the Equestrian Centre of Oliva Nova. They were happy and fresh when unloaded after having recovered well from the journey the night before in Perpignan.
Laura was able to ride her young horses BP Queen of Hearts and Vivi on Wednesday and Thursday as well as BP Casablanca until the heavy rain turned our riding plans under water. Toris family arrived Thursday evening right when the first big grey clouds showed up and the On Friday morning the showgrounds looked like swimming pools. The show was cancelled for the day. On Saturday all classes were postponed as it was still raining heavily. With all efforts taken from the show organization to pump the water from the showgrounds it was possible to we ride two classes at the end of the day. Sunday looked better and bright days started.
The weather confusion did not disturb the horses only Alicia who never knew when they had to be ready for the ring. The few rounds they were able to complete Laura was clear on BP Casablanca and on Vivi, Tori Rowe on all her three horses, Lion Man, Miss Pippa and Tamina.
Week two was sunny and warm. The schedule back to normal. Tori showed clear rounds in the 1.30 with Lion Man, in the 120 with Tamina and in the 1.10 with Miss Pippa. Laura in the 1.35 with BP Casablanca, in the 6-year-old classes with BP Queen of Hearts, in the 1.20 with FW Cascadella and in the 1.10 with Vivi. They found their routine ready to move on to Vejer de la Frontera to jump the bigger classes.
Our friends Carina Humbel and Mali Umbricht with Emanuel who came to visit enjoyed the time watching the riders, the walks on the beach and our traditional dinners. Aschi our cook spoilt us once again with his exquisite cuisine.
Michel Frey drove the transfer of the horses to Vejer de la Frontera. Lucky for them and us after the bad experience we had with last year’s driver!
